Well, this poor sword has had a hard time. It's passed hands a few times, and has yet to find a forever home. This Paul Chen Wind and Thunder Katana was customized by Henry Ahmu. The original pictures and description can be found at this web page, http://www.geocities.com/custom_tsuk...d_Thunder.html

Unfortunately, the last time it left to a new owner, UPS decided to abuse it. As a result, it now has a cracked saya and scratched koiguchi. The previous buyer paid for a undamaged sword, so he understandably returned it. I've included pictures of the damage.

It has not cut anything yet, but there are a few scratches on the Koiguchi from a couple of off notos by the previous owner. Other than the saya damage and the koiguchi scratches, its in great shape. The only addition to the blade was that I replaced the sageo chord with a better quality one in a light shade of green.

This sword will be shipped via USPS, please do not ask me to ship via UPS, I will not put this sword through that again.

Guys: I got this today from Texas. It is a post 1904, extra purchase officers' fitted "Kriegssaebel Mod. 1852"

There is no maker on the ricasso, but the spine reads; "A.TACKE,TEMPELHOF." a retailer I am sure. The "Fingerschlaufen" is intact...:)

The scabbard is blued and has one fixed ring and the square staple on the back of the ring band. This dates it well...

Overall is is 1 Meter Long, the Blade is 84.3 CM, the weapon, without scabbard is 97.3 CM...

Sharkskin grip with one twisted and two simple silver colored wires, this leads me to think it is an Officer's Blade.

The blade is etched, with "GARDE TRAIN BATTALION" on the obverse side, and "Mit Gott Fuer Kaiser u. Reich" on the reverse side...never had a blued background that I can tell, looks about 100% coverage of the nickel finish.

The Hilt was dinged up a bit, but I will fix that later...

Strong presence blade mounted in a no nonsense theme. Forged, polished and mounted for Tameshigiri.

Specs are 27.5 inch Shinogi Zukuri forged from W1 monosteel by Randal Graham ( one of the last Japanese blades forged by Randal Graham back in 2005 before his retirement ) with Torri Sori and Chu-Kissaki. Randal named this one Lil Monster, short for little monster. Polish was completed by Brandon Thell specifically for martial arts training. Sayashi was Wally Hostetter. Mount consists of a forged copper Habaki, Tsuka is full ray skin wrapped with silk Ito ( gold ) and an Ishime finish ( black ) Saya. Tsuba hand crafted in Tokyo by Mr Yamazaki. Higo themed Fuchi and Kashira ( 42mm for wide mihaba ) was crafted by Patrick Hastings. Menuki by Swordstore.com.

I'am the original owner and still have all the receipts from the craftsmen involved. The Katana has been used only for display since ownership. Regretful sale and the price is negotiable. Selling for $3000.

Kind regards.

My wife, my very lovely and talented wife completely changed the layout of our home while I was gone. I have been slowly recreating, rehanging and redecorating.

So

Come in, let me get you a drink, look around and enjoy. Meat is on the grill or in the smoker, cold beer and red wine are available. The water in my town is actually tasty and sun tea is a favorite

I have tried to stage things as a sort of interactive museum and show room for my work and collection. Many of the pieces are antiques. As for the swords there is a mix of antiquity , antique and modern reproduction. All of them are swords, by that I mean real swords, weapons with edges. Some of the swords and some of the furniture i have made my self. I like working with my hands, creating things, making art.

there is more, I just have to get them up and hung

My Viking Age and Migration Period display was combined in to this

This beautiful sword is relatively new and was only swung in the air. In its short young life, only used to cut through one box just to see it cut. For the most part, it's been a display piece. The overall length of the sword is 39" with the blade itself being 33". The scabbard is also roughly 33" inches and looks like it could make for a pretty good beat stick in and of itself. Even comes with the original british proof test and the name of the guy who tested it at the factory. Not pictured but I put paracord on the scabbard for extra grip when drawing the saber.

Asking $180 CONUS shipped with tracking

Next I have a benchmade 172 tomahawk. It's in similar condition to the sword and has never made contact with any hard targets or even water bottles. This is a tank of a tomahawk and will definitely bust through anything you swing it at. Measures in at 16" It comes with a kydex lined sheath. Comes with original box and papers.

Hello All,
I would value some expert opinion on a recent acquisition, a German naval sword, seemingly from the Weimar period it has celluloid grips, a damascus blade which is hard to categorise as a smal area of damage reveals some clean steel beneath but another area seems to show the etch pattern continiing below the surface. Other points of interest are that it has 2 red eyes rather than red and green and the folding inner guard is not pierced and the scabbard has no pin. Condition is excellent overall. Anty thoughts? Also there are no makers marks only the number 42 and the letterZ

Hello, I am selling my Iaito that I purchased from Swordstore. It is made in Japan, practically brand new and less than a year old. A rare gem, this sword is from Swordstore's 1001 Custom Design line. It is perfect for iaidoka who are bigger or would like to handle a larger blade. It is perfectly balanced, as most iaitos that come from swordstore are. It was meticulously taken care of. These are the specs.

Blade length- 2.5 shaku or 29.8 inches
Tsuka length- 9.5 sun or 11.3 inches
Same- Black
Menuki- Heron
Fuchi kashira- Tsurukusa
Tsuba- Edo
Tsuka ito- Black

I have attached some pictures and I would be happy to email anyone interested in any specific shots. You can also go to the Swordstore webpage and recreate this sword to get a better idea. I am asking $550 o.b.o. Serious offers only please.

You can email me personally at houseofalvarez@gmail.com.

I am selling a set of handachi fittings I purchased a number of years ago in Hataya Sensei's (Toyama Ryu) sword shop in Machida Japan, Hataya Token. They were purchased with a particualar project in mind that is long since been cancelled.

They are iron with a black patina and gold highlights in a very plain Higo(?) style. They are unsigned and while old, I could not tell you how old.

Serious inquires should be PM's to me.

$400 plus shipping in CONUS

Like many here I've had a long love affair with the 1796 Heavy Cavalry Trooper's Pattern, owning a half dozen and loving each for their uniqueness.

Recently I've been struggling with whether I should only keep one example, and if so which one? Of the two I currently own, each has its merits and detractors. I thought it might be fun to see which the Forum thinks I should keep. I've never seen a poll on here so thought I would give it a try.

Bachelor #1
Made by Craven, with intact full disk guard and languets. Blade has been modified to spear point and has significant edge damage due to contact. Hilt has yeomanry markings WYC for "Warwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry". Leather grip present, though dried and cracking. Complete with very decent scabbard.

Bachelor #2
Unmarked example, also with intact full disk guard though languets removed. Blade has original hatchet point and very little edge damage. Leather grip is 80% worn off. Scabbard also very decent.

So which would you keep? Sword #1, or Sword #2?

Hi all!

My new Medieval persona for full-contact scrappin' is that of a 14th century Mongolian guy, only without a horse, and mostly without a bow (I have a bow).

I want to have some practice sabres and centre-grip (well, twin loop grip) shields made. One of the sabres I will have made to the Battle of Nations specs (euro coin shaped tip, 2mm minimum edge). A cutting one and a heavy endurance one.

So... I would like to ask... What is you guys' idea of a Mongolian Sabre that would be used by a Mongolian Archer of the early-to-mid 14th? And do you have photos of one you like better? I want to use a extant pattern.

I really appreciate any help any of you can give me, and I will show the finsihed products when done.

Have a great day!
